TITLE: “The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag”

Published in New York by the Oxford University Press in 1948.

DISCUSSION: Edward James "Jim" Corbett [1875–1955] was a British hunter,
conservationist, author and naturalist, famous for hunting a large number
of man-eaters in India. Between 1907 and 1938, Corbett tracked and shot a
documented 19 tigers and 14 leopards — a total of 33 recorded and
documented man-eaters. One of the most famous was the man-eating Leopard
of Rudraprayag, which terrorised the pilgrims to the holy Hindu shrines
Kedarnath and Badrinath for more than ten years. This is the story of that
leopard, and of Corbett’s hunt for it.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 5.5”x8.5”, 188 pages, black & white illustrations,
dust jacket.

CONDITION NOTES: The dust jacket has some wear and chunks missing, as can
be seen in the photos, above and below. The book itself is clean and nice,
with a tight binding.
