Specimens of Book and Job Types, for sale by the Penhallow Printing Company, Lowell, Mass., At Reduced Prices.   [Lowell, no date, ca. 1879].   Original printed self-wrappers; 8 pp.   Some cracking along a vertical and horizontal fold, edges chipped, some browning to the edges of the rear wrappers; a good copy only of a very fragile and rare item. 



An attractive offering of ornamental and display types from a small Massachusetts printer/publisher.  Based on the note "To Printers," this appears to have been compiled in preparation for liquidating the assets of the company after the death of its proprietor, B. H. Penhallow.  The company seems to have been active from about 1858 to 1879, and t he date of 1879 is included in one of the types displayed.
