Laid in is a two-page, handwritten letter (ALS) from Basanta Koomar Roy,
author and musician, dated July 3, 1925. Roy is replying to a female member
of an American music club who asked him to recommend some books on Hindu
music. He names and briefly describes seven titles, including this one by
Popley. He states that the books can be bought at Orientalia, 32 West 58th
St., NYC. "...They have all sorts of things in that unique book shop ...
