LEWIS, Sinclair. GIDEON PLANISH. New York: Random House, (1943). First
Edition. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author to the actress Lillian Gish:
"To my darling/Lillian Gish with/blessings from/Hollywood/Sinclair
Lewis/Sept. 2, 1943." A fairly early presentation as the novel was
published in April of 1943 and certainly an important one as Lillian
Gish and her sister Dorothy were friends of Lewis's. The book is cocked
and likely Lewis was also at the time of the presentation as he
inscribed the book upside down on the rear endpaper, obviously holding
the book upside down while writing. Very minor wear to the lower
corners. Very Good in a Very Good dustwrapper with minor chipping to the
spine tips. (#008867) $2,500.00 NET
