TITLE: “The Upland Shooting Life”

By George Bird Evans.
Published in New York by Alfred A. Knopf in 1971.

DISCUSSION: A memoir/instructional book, half how-to and half
reminiscences of an upland bird hunting career that began in 1932. In
addition to being a hunter and illustrator, George Bird Evans is a veteran
dog-breeder, creator of the famed Old Hemlock English setters. Illustrated
with both photographs and line drawings by the author.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 6.5”x9.5”, xii + 301 + xi pages, black & white and
line illustrations, dust jacket.

CONDITION NOTES:  The dust jacket has some light wear and minor soil. The
book itself has some minor wear, and a few reader notes, but otherwise is
clean and nice, with a tight binding.
