(1954). Early but not first printing of the American edition, published 
simultaneously with the British edition. SIGNED by the author on the 
front free endpaper. This slim volume, Huxley's first-hand description 
of his use of mind-altering mescaline, had an immeasurable effect on the 
widespread acceptance of drugs in the 1960s, helping to usher in the 
Psychedelic Movement and giving birth to the name of at least one famous 
musical group. Indeed, this title is considered to be the most 
influential single volume on hallucinogenic drugs and is rarely found 
signed. Skimming to small piece of title page from removal of a label; 
light staining to gutters of the endpapers from the glue used in the
