4to.  11 7/8 x 8 inches.  (78) pp.  Limitation page, illustration, frontispiece printed in red within a black rule, elaborately decorated title page printed in red and black, headpieces, tailpieces, decorative initials, 25 facsimiles, bibliography, indexes of printers and towns, printed on hand-made paper; text clean, unmarked.  Quarter tan calf, cloth over boards, gilt rule on covers, spine titled in gilt; light rubbing, spine lightly faded and rubbed.  Very Good.

LIMITED EDITION of 400 copies.  Magnificently produced by the De Vinne Press.  The text approaches its subject by the town in which the various printer's shops operated, and shows handsome facsimiles from the books discussed.  Printers highlighted include Peter Schoeffer, Anthony Koberger, Nicholas Jenson, and many others.
