This work brings together essential information - including titles published - about the identifiable presses which were functioning in Italy in the years 1501 to 1520. The material has been arranged in alphabetical order of places, and under the locations, printers (but members of the same family of the same surname are arranged chronologically). A chronological list of presses is given for each place, in order to make it possible to ascertain rapidly which printers were at work in any town at any given date.
