Baghdad: Hasso Brothers, [c.1925]. Padded hardcover, Oblong quarto, 50 
leaves, black and white photographs. Very Good.
          Visually stunning album of photographs showing 1920s city life 
in Baghdad, Basrah, Mosul, along with views of mosques, ancient ruins, 
marketplaces, and many fascinating human portraits. Three aerial views 
are captioned "R.A.F. Official Photograph" along their bottom edges. 
Bound in faux crocodile over padded boards with upper board lettered in 
gilt, spine tied with tasseled cord. Exterior binding shows some rubs 
and edge wear. Gilt lettered dulled. Prior owner gift inscription dated 
1944 on front pastedown. Front pastedown also bears a stained/abraded 
area about the size of your palm. Interior pages are browned and lightly 
spotted overall. In original plain brown slipcase, which shows edge
