TITLE: “The Wedding Journal”

New York; Barse & Hopkins: no date, but 1920s.

DISCUSSION: A wedding blank book titled "The Wedding Journal" filled with
a variety of lists, photos, memorabilia and related material from the May
23, 1923 wedding of Lena Pettit and John E. Hickman at the Grace Methodist
Church in Dallas, Texas, including a series of seven wonderful full-page
watercolors of the wedding fashions. There is also an 11-page diary of the
honeymoon, lists of guests, newspaper clippings, forms and photos, and
much more memorabilia. But the watercolors are what makes this album
special.

DESCRIPTION: Silk-moire-style cloth covered book, 7”x10.5”, about 75 pages.

CONDITION NOTES: Covers worn, binding partially broken and some pages
falling out, some soil.
