The Quoddy Village Work Experience Project, organized under Pres. Franklin
D. Roosevelt's administration, was a research experiment to help make
youths of America employable. "...to provide for young men between the ages
of 18 and 25 an opportunity to be employed on types of maintenance work
found in any modern community....This Village is an entire community,
complete within itself...." This book is signed "yearbook style" by many
staff members as well as young men enrolled in the program, some with their
