We are pleased to announce Catalogue 17. Western Americana from the Library of Kenneth E. Hill.

Works date from the early 19th century to the beginning of the current one, and cover western exploration, California history and printing, literature and reference, including some duplicates of works in the Hill Collection (THE HILL COLLECTION OF PACIFIC VOYAGES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO. SECOND EDITION, New Haven: William Reese Company, 2004). All are from Hill's library with a bit over half having his small bookplate.

Prices range from $10 to $3000, with over half less than $100.

Some highlights include:
- a nice selection of works by John Muir including a signed, extra-illustrated copy of "Our National Parks"
- Washington Irving's "The Rocky Mountains"
- Whitney: "Geological Survey of California"
- Powell's "Exploration of the Colorado River of the West and its Tributaries"
- Maury: A New Theoretical and Practical Treatise on Navigation
- all four editions of Robert Duncan's "The Five Songs."
- a run of the Book Club of California imprints
- a run of keepsakes from the Friends of the Bancroft Library
- first edition of Wheat's "Mapping the Transmississippi West"
