Baker in Pater-Noster-Row, and the Booksellers of London and Westminster, 1714. FIRST EDITION. Small 8vo in modern wraps with printed label; [6], 2, 9-40 (erratic pagination, but text and register are continuous and complete). ESTC T50398.

Despite the "dedication" to the Old Pretender, this is in fact an attack on the would-be James III by "a true Protestant who intends to live and die a resolved Friend to the House of Hanover." His warning of resolute and fierce opposition to "any Invader of her Majesty's rightful Title to the Crown" seems to have fallen on deaf ears, for the very next year saw the first of the great Jacobite risings (the 'Fifteen) that would vainly attempt to restore the Stuarts to the English throne. Some soiling to the title-page and last leaf, the tips of several corners creased, a few small spots, otherwise quite clean and crisp.
