AUTOBIOGRAPHY. New York: The Century Co., 1904. Large octavo (7-1/2" x 
10-3/4") bound in vellum and boards with vellum tips at the corners. One 
of 100 large-paper copies printed on handmade paper at the Devinne 
Press. BAL 14223. Bookplate of noted collector William F. Gable on the 
front pastedown with bookplates of three later collectors on the 
endpapers or laid in. Most of paper spine label lacking with a little 
soiling to the vellum spine. Near Fine.

S. Weir Mitchell was a Union Army surgeon during the Civil War and a
