Octavos, old lightly decorated leather, light wear to corners, edges, and hinges, one joint strengthened, inconspicuous traces of shelf labels, bookplates of defunct library, old stamp on bottom edges, occasional foxing.  xviii, 320, 320* – 321*, 321 - 324, [20];  iv, blank leaf, 110, 111 - 112, 111 - 180, 16, [21] - 44, [16], 39 -40 pages.  39 plates (all published - the title page says 40 plates, but plate 37 was never published.)  The plates are "from the original drawings by Mr. William Bartram."  Some plates with offset due to folding.  A very good copy of a seminal work.  [3127]

[BASKERVILLE].  TERENTIUS [PUBLIUS TERENTIUS AFER].  COMOEDIAE.  Birmingham: Johannes Baskerville, 1772.
Old full calf, 4to, gilt borders on covers,  gilt foliage design on spine with red title box, marbled end papers, slight edge wear, slightly rubbed. Scattered quite light foxing , offset marks on 4 lower inner margins from old place marker, but a nice clean copy.  Bookplate, ex libris Liechtensteriniana, light blue library  stamp  on  page on A1, a few shelfmarks.  The state in which G2 is not a cancel. Gakell 46.  [6187]  ($200)  $120 nett

[BASKERVILLE].  CATULLUS, [Gaius Valerius] [&] TIBULLUS [&] PROPERTIUS.  OPERA.  Birmingham: Johannes Baskerville, 1772.  Quarto, rebound with old green patterned board, vellum spine and corners, green title box on spine, plain end papers, slight wearing on edges but the spine is in good condition.  "M M Moseley" written in ink at top of title page.   Scattered light foxing, small stains in upper margin of six pages, otherwise very clean and bright, small hole in outer margin of 303.  A2 is a cancel, H3 is not.  Pagination jumps from 200 to 221, but text is complete.  Gaskell 44.  [6188]  ($225)  $120 nett
