Greetings,

Back Creek Books is pleased to offer:
~
Keene, Richard Raynal. A LETTER FROM RICHARD RAYNAL KEENE, TO LUTHER
MARTIN, ESQ., ATTORNEY-GENERAL OF MARYLAND; UPON THE SUBJECT OF HIS
'MODERN GRATITUDE'.
Baltimore: Prentiss & Cole, 1802. 3/4 cloth, Duodecimo, 53 pages. Near Fine.
Keene (a Democrat) had wooed and wed Martin's (a Federalist)
15 year old daughter. Martin had printed and distributed an absolutely
scathing attack on the couple as a result. This is Keene's able
response. This is the stuff of daytime television, 200 years earlier and
stated with eloquence. Baltimore imprint. SABIN #37155. Bound in modern
marbled boards with dark brown cloth fore corners and spine, gilt title
to spine, grey endpapers. Textblock is lightly browned, some mild
chipping along fore edges, an occasional short tear expertly repaired
with archival tissue....... $300.00
