          Both volumes of Shaw's "Abraham Lincoln: Cartoon History," 
INSCRIBED and SIGNED by Shaw in the first volume. In addition, laid in 
are a newspaper review, a typed letter signed by Shaw, and an autograph 
note from Shaw. The texts are profusely illustrated with the best 
collection of contemporary cartoons in book form, along with several 
portraits and prints. Includes what is believed to be the first 
political cartoon by Thomas Nast. See MONAGHAN #3135; ANGLE, SOLB p. 
120. Bound in red cloth over boards with spines titled in gilt, upper 
boards stamped in gilt and black, top edges gilt, black endpapers. No 
significant wear to books. Jackets have mild fading to spines and some 
light edge wear at spine ends.......    $125.00
