Each epigram is printed in Greek with a Latin translation, and this is followed by a mathematical commentary. Thus the first epigram is about the abundance of chickens in Argolis. The commentary stresses the enmity between the Spartans and the Argolids, such as that existing between a chicken and a lioness, but goes on to compute the number of chickens in Argolis based on various divisions by region, city, phratria, villages, houses, cocks, hens and chickens of which there are reckoned to be 239,616,000.
A scarce work by Lauremberg (1590-1658) who taught mathematics at the Regia Academia Sorana (Soroe, Denmark).
