The Gentleman's Magazine, and Historical Chronicle. Volume XI. For the Year MDCCXLI [1741]. London: Edw. Cave, jun. at St. John's Gate, [1741]. Twelve monthly issues, plus supplement, volume title, indices and preface. Thick 8vo (21 cm) in early boards and vellum spine; [4] + 706 + [16] pp.; woodcut map and illustrations, musical notation. Presumed first edition. Twelve monthly issues, with volume title, index and preface. Wear and soiling to the binding; front inner hinge cracked with the vellum pulling a bit from the spine, but holding; one page gathering pulling slightly from the gutter and protruding from the text block, but secure; bumping to bottom corner of the first few leaves; occasional spotting and mild browning to the first half of the text; otherwise quite clean and sound. Front paste-down with the engraved armorial bookplate of J. Comyns, Wood [Devon].

Contents include:
