First Edition. Folio (7-5/8" x 12-1/4") bound in worn sheep with covers
detached and the spine darkened and dry with most of the leather
lacking; complete but for the rear endpaper. Also contains the
Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the
Constitution of the Commonwealth, the Treaty of Peace, and an early
printing of the United States Constitution. Evans 21948; Sabin 45932;
Tower 350. At the end of the Errata on the last page of text in a tiny
hand is written: "Rectified with the Pen. J. Pickens." Below that in the
bottom blank margin in another hand are a few notations regarding laws
within. Bookplate of New Bedford library on the front pastedown. Several
pages with long tears without loss, small pieces missing from some
margins, light to moderate foxing. A Good copy in need of binding
