This is the R. R. Donnelley & Sons' DEEPTONE® Offset Facsimile of 
Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, printed at the Lakeside Press for the 
Illinois exhibit at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. The facsimile is 
based on the manuscript Lincoln wrote out at the request of Edward 
Everett (the main orator at Gettysburg) for inclusion in a volume to be 
auctioned for charity during the Civil War. The original manuscript is 
in Springfield at the Illinois State Historical Library. This version of 
the Address differs in only one significant way from the final revision 
we have in Lincoln's hand (the so-called "Everett" copy)--it includes 
the extra "here" in the phrase "…for which they here gave the last full 
measure of devotion…". See Wills, "Lincoln at Gettysburg," Appendix I. A 
visually faithful reproduction, right down to the faint stains, faint 
blue lines, and Everett's faintly written page numbers at the top right 
corners of the original. Each of the two sheets measures 19.2 cm x 24.1 
cm. Inexpertly framed (no damage to the piece, just not presented as 
nicely as could be).
