SITWELL, Sacheverell. THE PEOPLE'S PALACE with an Original Manuscript
Poem. Oxford: B.H. Blackwell, 1918. First Edition. Publisher's plain
terra-cotta wraps with a printed paper label on the front cover and
another on the spine. Sitwell's First Book, printed in an edition of 400
copies. Laid in is an AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS) by the author to
Graham Glastonbury dated 1 June 1981 that includes an ORIGINAL
MANUSCRIPT POEM. In full: "Here is a near new poem, commendably that for
John Rothenstein's birthday celebration. Little Cavalier. The little dog
barked all night long/at the tiger-lillies;/Who would look for an
aesthete/in a lap-dog's eyes? I hope you will find this suitable." Light
wear to the covers, with small chips at the spine tips. Very Good.
