ammiransi nel Museo Nazionale”

Published in Naples by Tarallo e Paderni in 1871.

DISCUSSION: An elegant pictorial survey of antiquities excavated from
Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Stabbia, in the collection of the National
Museum in Naples. The objects include marble and bronze sculptures,
silver, jewelry, lamps, pottery, metalwork, glass, mosaics, murals, and
other decorations. Most of the plates are printed in black, but several
are printed in colored ink, including an exquisite plate of a cameo glass
two-handled cinerary urn printed in blue.

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 9"x11.5", title page, 165 steel-engraved plates
(several folding), 2 pages of Index. Bound into new plain cloth covers
with a leather spine label.

CONDITION NOTES: Lacking the last 2 Index pages -most of the plates do not
have captions, so for the most part only the objects in the first 74
plates (the ones we have index pages for) can be identified. Ex-library,
with a perforation on the title page and stamps on the backs of the
plates. Minor internal soil.
