Henry J. H. Bond: A Statistical Report of Addenbrooke's Hospital, for the Year 1836. [BOUND WITH] A Statistical Report of Addenbrooke's Hospital, for the Year 1837. [Cambridge: Printed at the University Press, 1837-38]. Two separate papers extracted from broken volumes of the Transactions of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, bound in burgundy french wraps; 4to (28 x 22 cm); p. 361-377, [1]; 565-575, [1]; with two large folding tables. Slight bit of foxing to the top edges of those leaves adjacent to the folding tables, otherwise clean and sound and firmly bound in fresh modern wraps.

A fascinating snapshot of disease and treatment at the dawn of the Victorian era. Addenbrooke's Hospital was established in 1766 in and is still a leading teaching hospital closely associated with the University of Cambridge. According to the 1875 Cambridge Post Office Directory, Henry J. H. Bond was still an attending physician there nearly forty years later.
