TITLE: “Japanese Inro and Lacquer-ware from a private Swedish collection”

Published in London by the Eskenazi gallery in 1996.

DISCUSSION: The catalog of a multi-generational collection of fine
Japanese into and other lacquer, formed by a family of the Swedish
nobility. "The collection was mainly formed at the bend of the nineteenth
century, the first object having been bought in Japan in 1887 by the
grandfather of the present owners. The exhibition encompasses into by some
of the best lacquer artists such as members of the Koma and Koami
families, Shibata Zeshin, Jokasai, Iizuka Toyo, and Yosei, together with
several outstanding boxes of the Meiji period, including one made for
presentation by the Imperial family."

DESCRIPTION: Softcover. 8.5"x12", 102 pages, color illustrations.

CONDITION NOTES: Minor wear, but overall in fine, clean condition.
