Housed in a handsome custom made slipcase; gilt decorated & blind tooled morocco, black morocco label, over marbled boards. Occasional light foxing. This monograph on shells was part of a series of natural history studies by Reichenbach, published 1829-1845. See BM Natural History, Vol. VIII p. 1060. Copies were sold colored and uncolored. The colored version at 3 times the price of the uncolored (noted on the title-page) is quite uncommon.
