(6),x,(2),408pp. Index. Title printed in black & brown within a woodcut Chinese gateway. Illustrated with 61 photographic plates and a large folding map with the author's route through China outlined in red. Orig. Patterned brown cloth, black & gilt spine label (some minor light soiling and some rubbing at hinges, but still a very nice copy). T.e.g. In the original dust jacket (a bit chipped & edge-worn with a few minor losses). Signed by the author on a leaf following the title page.    $250.00 (trade discount allowed)
Wilson (1876-1930) was Keeper of the Arnold Arboreum of Harvard University. Some of the material in this book was taken from the author's previous work, "A Naturalist in Western China," published in 1913.
