Today is Christopher Robin's birthday.  When I was very young, I worked 
as a freelance editor at E. P. Dutton where I almost daily walked by the 
original Winnie, locked behind glass, no honey in sight.

First Edition. Bound in publisher's pictorial cloth and housed in a 
plain brown slipcase with printed paper spine label, here lacking about 
a one-inch section from the top edge. Illustrated by Ernest Shepard. 
This is copy #685 of 842 SIGNED by the author. Laid in are an old 
receipt and description from Goodspeed's. Fine in what would be a Fine 
slipcase but for the missing piece. (#012929) $600.00
