TITLE: “Der Goldschatz von Panagjurischte”

Published in Berlin by the Akademie Verlag in 1959.

DISCUSSION: "The gold treasure of Panagjurischte is an antique gold
service, discovered on December 8th, 1949 two kilometers south of
Panagjurischte in central Bulgaria. The gold treasure consists of nine
vessels of pure gold and has a total weight of 6.164 kg. The gold vessels
belonged to an unknown ruler from the Thracian tribe of the Odrysians and
were used for religious ceremonies, sometime between the end of the 4
Century to the beginning of the 3rd Century BC. The treasure belongs to
the Archaeological Museum in Plovdiv."

DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 7"x9.5", 20 pages plus 72 color illustrations.

CONDITION NOTES: The covers have some light wear and soil. The book
interior has some minor soil, the front (blank) endpaper has been neatly
removed, and there is a gift inscription from a former owner and address
label on the half-title page, but otherwise is clean and nice, with a
tight binding.
