(6),36,lxxxii,(2)pp. Engraved frontispiece portrait and 4 large copper engraved folding plates on heavy stock paper: three are 30” x 18” and one is 20” x 30”. With the half-title. Bound in 19th century half calf, ornately gilt spine, over marbled boards, hinges a bit rubbed, and a small chip at top of spine. An untrimmed copy with large margins.	$3,500.00
A rare 18th century Italian festival book, printed in memory of the death & burial of Diego Pignatelli (1687-1750), the Duke of Terranova e Montelione, held in Naples, November 28, 1752. The text includes a 34 page funeral oration by Niccola Caracciolo. The 4 large folding plates are detailed views of the church and the mausoleum, engraved by Francesco Sesoni and Francesco Cepparuli. The very fine portrait of Pignatelli is engraved by Antonio Baldi after Domenico Mondo.
