Inscribed and signed by the noted African-American scholar and librarian,
Virginia Lacy Jones (1912-1984). Jones was a pioneering librarian who
throughout her 50-year career pushed for the integration of public and
academic libraries. She was one of the first African Americans to earn a
PhD in Library Science. Atlanta University's School of Library Sciences
