[JOHNSON, Lyndon B.] MOONEY, Booth. THE LYNDON JOHNSON STORY. New York:
farrar, Straus and Cudahy, (1956). First Edition. With a foreword by U.
S. Senator Lyndon Johnson. Illustrated with photographs. With a
full-page INSCRIPTION SIGNED by the future President on the front
endpaper: "To Tom Schmidt --/ with appreciation of his/friendship, good
Counsel/and support --/from his Gillespie/County neighbor/Lyndon B
Johnson/USS Texas/Aug 27, 1956." Books genuinely signed by LBJ are quite
scarce, and most of those are copies of THE VANTAGE POINT, usually
signed on a bookplate. Early titles such as this with contemporary
inscriptions are uncommon on the market. Near Fine in a Very Good
dustwrapper. (#015410) $850.00
