First Edition. Two volumes in original brown cloth. Edited and with a
23-page preface by Mary Shelley, author of FRANKENSTEIN. In addition,
published for the first time in its revised form is Mary Shelley's
"Journal of a Six Weeks Tour" as well as several letters by her. Among
Percy Shelley's writings are the first publication of his "A Defence of
Poetry." Signature of Francis Lassiter on endpapers and title pages.
Hinges slightly cracked on the second volume and neatly repaired on the
first. Some edgewear; spines sunned, chipped--gilt still bright. About
