1.  DE CASTANEDA, Pedro; DE CORONODO, Francisco 
Vazquez; WINSHIP, George Parker (translator). THE 
JOURNEY OF FRANCISCO VAZQUEZ DE CORONADO 
1540-1542. As Told by Pedro de Casteneda, 
Francisco Vazquez de Coronado, and others. 
Translated and edited by George Parker Winship 
with additional notes and an Introduction by 
Frederick Webb Hodge, director of the Southwest 
Museum at Los Angeles. The initials are by Fred 
Glauser and the illustrations by Arvilla Parker. 
San Francisco: The Grabhorn Press 1933 First 
Edition Thus. Quarto, original green cloth titled 
in red "JOURNEY OF CORONADO" on spine. 550 copies 
printed. 134 pp + Notes, printed throughout in 
red & black, illustrated. Cloth at head of spine 
just starting to fray, otherwise a very good 
clean copy. ¶ An account by one of Francisco 
Coronado's soldiers in the 1540-42 expedition to 
explore the Southwest from Mexico City to the 
Grand Canyon and the Great Plains. Coronado 
explored the American Southwest, through Arizona, 
New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma and as far north as present day Kansas.

2.  GRABHORN PRESS]. THE HISTORY OF SUSANNA. [San 
Francisco]: [The Grabhorn Press]. 1948. First 
Edition Thus. 400 copies printed. 12mo, original 
patterned paper-covered boards, cloth spine with 
printed paper title label. Printed in red and 
black from Rudolf Koch's Bibel Gotisch type with 
engravings by Malette Dean at the Grabhorn Press. 
Spine a trifle toned, a fine copy. ¶ A lovely 
edition of the tale of Susanna, taken from the 
Book of Daniel in the King James version of the Bible.

3.  GRABHORN, Jane; BENDER, J. Terry. CATALOGUE 
OF AN EXHIBITION OF THE TYPOGRAPHIC WORK OF JANE 
GRABHORN In the Albert M. Bender Room of the 
Stanford University Libraries March 4 to April 7 
1956. Los Angeles: Grabhorn Press. 1956. First 
Edition, First Printing. First edition. Octavo, 
original floral patterned khaki and cream 
coloured wrappers. 8vo, 28pp., title-page with 
device of the Colt Press printed in red & other 
devices in text. 500 copies printed. Tiny tears 
at edges of wrappers, a near fine copy.
¶ Catalogue of an exhibition held March 4 to 
April 7, 1956. Grabhorn Press Bibliography, no. 575.

4.  GRABHORN, Robert. A SMALL LOT OF ROBERT 
GRABHORN'S BOOKPLATES. 25 bookplates. A small lot 
of small bookplates. Simple things, obviously 
posthumous, the text states "From the Library of 
Robert Grabhorn 1900-1973 Printer". 25 
bookplates, each about 1.5 inches square. Likely 
made up by a bookseller to denote books from 
Grabhorn's library, but we don't really know the 
source, aside from where we found them, which was 
at Serendipity Books, about 5 years ago (circa 2009).

5.  HARLAN, Robert D. CHAPTER NINE. The Vulgate 
Bible & Other Unfinished Projects of John Henry 
Nash. San Francisco: The Book Club of California 
1982. First Edition, First Printing. First 
Edition. Small octavo, original paper covered 
board (faux vellum) titled in gilt on spine, JHN 
monogram on front panel. 76 pp. Illustrations, & 
tipped in facsimiles. Printed in an edition 
limited to 1000 copies, 500 for the Book Club of 
California and 500 for the Typophiles. A fine 
copy in the original glassine jacket (slightly torn).

6.  LAPP, Rudolph M. ARCHY LEE. A California 
Fugitive Slave Case. The Book Club of California. 
[1969]. First Edition Thus. Octavo, original 
black cloth, pictorial paper label on front 
panel, printed title label on spine. 67 pp. 500 
copies printed. Designed by Mallette Dean and 
James E. Beard, with decorations and 
illustrations in colour by Mallette Dean. The 
Book Club of California publication no. 131. A 
fine copy in the original plain paper dust 
jacket. ¶ The tale of Archy Lee, a slave who came 
to California with his master. When he learning 
that slavery was illegal in California, he 
escaped and was eventually arrested in San 
Francisco in 1858. He later won his freedom in court.

paper-covered boards with black cloth spine, the 
boards stamped in black, the spine in gilt. 107 
pp. Illustrated. 500 copies printed, published by 
the Zamorano Club and printed as a joint venture 
by Saul Marks at the Plantin Press; Gordon 
Holmquist at the Cole-Holmquist Press; Ward 
Ritchie at the Ward Ritchie Press; & Grant 
Dahlstrom at the Castle Press. Bound at the Silverlake Bindery, April, 1961.
