Carpzov (1679-1767) here examines and compares the books of the Old
Testament, including the time of their writing, historical circumstances,
conjectures on why and for whom each book was written, how the books are
arranged, literary styles in the various books, the opinions of earlier
scholars, etc. The text is in Latin, with references in Greek and Hebrew.
At the front are two pages of notes in a tiny hand, written by a German
scholar (Wiederman?) in 1766. Laid in are several pages of scholarly notes
in English.   $45.00
