FRIEDMAN, MILTON / With the assistance of Rose D. Friedman*.
*/CAPITALISM AND FREEDOM/*
Chicago, IL, University of Chicago Press 1962, 1st edition. Bound in
original aquamarine cloth with blocked gilt lettering. 8vo, pp. 202. No
dust jacket.
¶ "Capitalism and Freedom" was first published in 1962 by The University
of Chicago Press. A new edition came out in 1982, with a new preface by
Friedman. It remains a widely influential book, and is somtimes referred
to as the "bible" of libertarians or economic conservatives. Our copy
has a discrete ink name of the former owner to the top of the front free
endpaper. The last three blank endpapers have lightly-pencilled notes
and comments; as well, there are occasional lightly-pencilled "X" marks,
or marginal highlighting - all of which could be easily erased. The book
is in very good condition, otherwise. The spine ends are very slightly
bumped, and the corner tips of the boards are slightly rubbed. There is
a touch of soiling to the bottom edge of the text block. The binding is
strong. There are no additional printings indicated on the copyright
page. This is the first printing of the first edition.

Price: 850.00

Terms of sale - the price is in USD. Payment by check, credit card,
PayPal. Packing and postage charge included. Returnable within seven
days of receipt if found to be not as described.
