Cather, Willa (1873-1947). The Novels and Stories of Willa Cather,
Autograph Edition.
Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1937. Limited edition, #117 of and
edition of 970 copies of which 950 are signed and numbered for sale.
Octavos, 12 volumes (of 13), tissue-guarded frontispieces in each
volume. Near fine.
Attractive collection of Cather's works designed by Bruce
Rogers. This set lacks volume 13, "Sapphira and the Slave Girl." Cather
has signed volume 1 on the limitation page. Bound in dark blue cloth
over boards with white cloth spines, gilt ornaments at center of upper
and lower boards, gilt titled spine labels. Slight toning to spines,
some spine labels have a few shallow edge chips. Prior owner bookplate
removed from front pastedowns in most volumes leaving some staining.
Bindings clean and tight overall. ....... $800 net, ppd in U.S., shipped
