Hubbard, Richard. HANDWRITTEN SHOEMAKER'S ACCOUNT BOOK, AUGUST 1830 -
OCTOBER 1831: Coastal New England provenance. Original manuscript. 38pp,
written in ink in a neat hand. Includes Hubbard's household expenditures
for groceries and "sundries," including oysters (by the half-bushel),
snuff, candles, gin, rum, coffee, tea, bristles, molasses, pork, lots of
mackerel, sherry, codfish, sausages, brandy, crockery, cloth, almanack,
salt peter, rye flour, thread, &c., &c. His income for work done includes:
pair shoes, morocco slippers, 3 pr. leather pumps, making father's boots,
making cloth pumps for mother, mending Edward's boot, 5 pr. morocco shoes,
&c. Bound in gray-black-white, pictorial wallpaper; corner of front cover
torn away. 8" x 6" Good. (#036650) $175.00
