Lg. 4to. 4,xiv,(2),304pp. Complete with a copper engraved folding map of Greece and the Peloponnesus and 6 other engraved charts and plans (2 folding). Both volumes are uniformly bound in cont. mottled calf, elaborately gilt tooled spines with red & black morocco labels ("Volume I" and "Volume II"), spines lightly rubbed. With the same engraved armorial bookplate on both front pastedowns. Slight browning at outer edges of the first volume's title
 page, otherwise a fine "set" of the two titles.    $2,750.00 (trade discount allowed)
Chandler (1738-1810) was a classical antiquary and traveler. These two books, taken from Chandler's journal, were separately published, but practically form a single work, and it was, in fact, published as a 2 volume set in 1817.
