Binding a bit shaken (this is a large, somewhat heavy, book) resulting 
in the binding starting to separate between the frontispiece and the 
title page. Previous owner had encased the book in clear plastic, the 
flaps of which had been taped to the inside of the front and rear 
boards. This protected the cloth from soiling, but if the plastic and 
tape is removed, it may leave tape "scars" on the inside pastedowns. The 
59 full-colour, full-page, plates are quite vivid and in exceptional 
condition. There are 34 pages of description of the birds depicted in 
the plates. The text is in Spanish. There is no dust jacket. Copies of 
this extraordinary work are very seldom seen.
