First German edition of this pioneering work on microscopes and microscopy by Henry Baker (1698-1774), English naturalist, member of the Royal Society, and son-in-law of Daniel Defoe. Lacking four of the plates; worming to the lower margin of the first 5 leaves (not affecting any text), folding plates slightly soiled, a few occasional small spots, otherwise quite clean and sound, firmly bound.
