Large copper engraved plate on title and text with about a dozen copper engravings. Cont. calf, red morocco spine label. Top of spine chipped and front hinge starting but sound. Title & text with occasional old soiling.    $750.00 (trade discount allowed)
The third edition. A valuable text for knowledge of ancient Britain. It contains one of the first Anglo-Saxon dictionaries (pp. 207-239). The first edition of 1605 is cited
 as containing the first printing in English of "The Story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin" (found in all editions). STC 21363 (under "Rowlands").
