denim with a paper spine label. Edited with an introduction by Bernard 
DeVoto. Designed by C. P. Rollins. Illustrated with 70 drawings by 
Thomas Hart Benton. Copy #509 of 1500 copies SIGNED by the artist on the 
colophon page. Laid in is a piece of LEC ephemera we have not previously 
encountered: a First Day Cover specially made for the Club and 
postmarked Hannibal, MO on 13 February 1940 with a printed description 
on the envelope. Fine in a Near Fine slipcase with the bottom edge
