Small, Samuel. TRUE COPY OF PROCEEDINGS OF A TOWN MEETING HELD AT
SCARBOROUGH [Massachusetts, later Maine] THE 27TH DAY OF DECEMBER 1765.
Original manuscript. Half-page, written in a clear hand: "Voted that Thomas
Libby be Collector to Collect the outStanding Money, borne on the List
which was Committed to George Libby late Constable of Scarborough who
absconded and not Finished the Collections Committed to him to Collect. A
True Copy of Record attest Samuel Small Town Clerk."  Docketed on verso.
5.25" x 6.5 " Very Good.
Town Clerk Samuel Small was born in 1718 at Kittery, Maine, and died in
1791 at Scarborough. George Libby, the herein accused, is unknown to us.
Thomas Libby, who took his place as Collector, was born and died at
Scarborough, 1733-1821. ~~ Situate on the southern coast of Maine,
Scarborough was incorporated by the Massachusetts General Court in 1658,
and remained within the boundaries of the Commonwealth until March 15, 1820
when Maine was granted statehood.  $75.00
