The Gentleman's Magazine: and Historical Chronicle. For the Year MDCCXCII [1792]. Volume LXII. Part the First [and] Part the Second. London: Printed by John Nichols and sold by Eliz. Newberry, 1792. Twelve monthly issues (Jan.-Dec.), plus the supplement, volume title, indices and preface. Two volumes, 8vo, in early/period marbled boards, sympathetically rebacked in modern sheepskin with raised bands; iv, 583, [13] p.; [2], [585]-1221, [15] p.; complete with all 38 copper-engraved plates called for, two of which are folding.

Modest rubbing to the boards, bumping to the corners; toning and occasional browning to the leaves; vol. 1 with damp-staining to the first two leaves and the last two plates, intermittent lighter moisture damage elsewhere; small area of worming to the upper fore-corners of the first ca. 60 leaves; vol. 2 with offsetting to some of the plates; otherwise both volumes generally clean and sound, firmly bound and handsomely rebacked. Front paste-down with the engraved armorial bookplate of J. Comyns, Wood [Devon].
