KHAYYAM, Omar. THE RUBAIYAT OF OMAR KHAYYAM. London & New York: George 
Routledge/E. P. Dutton, [c.1904]. Octavo (5-1/2" x 8") beautifully bound 
in full decorative dark blue morocco leather gilt by Bayntun with the 
front cover depicting part of a scene from one of the plates with 
colored onlays, enclosed by vine and foliate gilt border, spine with 5 
raised bands and vine and foliate design in 6 compartments, all edges 
gilt; gilt turn-ins, silk endpapers. Translated by Edward Fitzgerald and 
illustrated with 12 color plates by Gilbert James. Trace of rubbing to 
spine edges, scuff to one raised band. A spectacular binding in Fine 
condition housed in a cloth slipcase. (#017825)        $3,500.00
