** From our new catalog -

23. [King Arthur] Vlock, Sandra E. "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight"

Published by the author, no date, but 1974. A privately-printed set of
hand-drawn illustrations of the tale of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight,
with an annotated synopsis and explanation of the story. The author
appears to have been a Connecticut-born architect and designer who at
the time was in her first year as an Art History & English Literature
major at Cornel University. The illustrations are imaginative and
charming and unmistakably of the 1970s period. Though printed, and
therefor not unique, certainly an extremely uncommon version of this
classic tale for the completist, or the lover of 1970s illustration.

Comb bound. 8.5"x11", 1 black & white plate plus 8 pages of text plus 33
single-sided black & white plates. Covers and first plate with some
soil, light wear. Signed and dated "1974" on the cover, and inscribed
"Sandy" inside the front cover. [41746] $85
