*FERSEN, Eugene. /SCIENCE OF BEING/.*
Bound in brown lizard skin binding with gilt design to front. Published
by the author. New York City. 1923. 1st edition. Tall 12mo, pp. xii,
329. The text is printed on india paper with alternating gilt and black
text, interspersed with gilt designs and tailpieces. Slight edge wear to
covers. Silk moire endpapers. In an artistic hand, a previous owner has,
in gilt ink, printed (on the second blank preliminary page) a name "Rea
(or 'Ren') Francis" and vertically, to the side of the same page, the
word "Svetozar", and in the bottom right corner the date "1925/26".
"Svetozar" is a Slavic origin given name.

Fersen claimed to be born in 1873 in Russia of noble lineage, the son of
the Grand Duchess of Russia, and the nephew of Leo Tolstoy. The interior
of the book is in excellent condition: unmarked, and with no tears
(common to books the contents of which are printed on the flimsy and
delicate india paper). No publisher is shown for this book, although, on
the copyright page, it is stated that this book was printed by the J. F.
Tapley Co. of New York. Overall, this strange little book is in very
good to near fine condition.

Price: $500.00.

Terms of sale: the price is in USD. Payment by check, credit card, or
PayPal. Postage and packing charge is $10, sent anywhere. Returnable
within seven days of receipt if found to be in a condition other than as
described.
