Big Table. Numbers 1- 5.  Chicago: Big Table, 1959- 60. Edited by Irving Rosenthal and Paul Carroll. Complete in five issues: No.1 (featuring Burrough’s Naked Lunch), 152 pp.,  adverts; No.2 (Ginsberg, Ferlinghetti), 122 pp., adverts; No.3 (Ashberry, Genet, Mailer), 119 pp., adverts; No.4 (Creeley, Snyder), 141 pp., adverts; No.5 (Duncan, Neruda, Updike), 125 pp., adverts. All with contributions from central figures of the Beat Generation including Kerouac (who suggested the title for the publication), Burroughs, Ginsberg (Kaddish), Ferlinghetti, Dahlberg; some not so beats (Updike, Mailer) and many others (poems from Creeley, Ashberry, and Duncan). Although a sixth issue was contemplated (a symposium on post-Christian man), it did not appear, and these five numbers represent the whole of the Big Table.  Issue No. 2 typically tanned; otherwise the five volumes are clean and tight.  100  USD
