I'm pleased to offer this grouping of Eleanor Roosevelt related items 
not yet listed on any d.b. or eBay:

Exhibition and Sale Personal Possessions from the Estate of Mrs. Eleanor 
Roosevelt, Hammer Galleries, New York 1964 (September 18 - October 3, 
1964 sale). 51 pages. -
staple bound wraps.  Damp stain on bottom pages throughout but not 
affecting text.  Hand written prices next to numerous items.  The 
auction catalog contains photos of Mrs. Roosevelt and a reprint of the 
consignment letter signed by John A. Roosevelt.  2744 items listed and 
described, including where they had been located (Val-Kill Farms, Hyde 
Park, NY, etc.). A newspaper ad from N.Y. times of the auction laid in.

The letters, etc. seem to be from and to a Mrs. Frank L. Bierkortte, 116 
N. 18th St., Wheeling, W.VA.
Including:
-one note, partially in shorthand, initialed by M.L.B. indicating she 
sent $12.63 for a Coastal Scene, ck # 1353, etc.
-Self addressed unused solicitation envelope to the Bob Hope, Mailmen's 
March Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial Foundation,
-typed post card addressed to Mrs. Bierkortte (4c stamp) indicating the 
item she wanted had been previously sold and listing other items 
available in that price range
(name D. Cockcroft (Mrs.) on card from Hammer Galleries 9/30/64
-handwritten note on back of a blank bank deposit slip
-list of secondary choices on index card
-typed letter to Hammer Galleries from Mrs. Bierkortte re: her secondary 
choices and how to handle the original check
-6 hand written pages Titled: Book List with item numbers, Titles and 
prices.
-2 pages of similar hand written items titles:  "Small Items"
-Hammer Galleries green hand written receipt for 5 Volumes of Art in 
American for $30.00 plus $3.00 for handling and shipping.
-Another receipt from Hammer Galleries for $104.00 purchases from same 
woman for a framed Water Color by Van Loon from the E.R. auction.
-Another receipt for the book set marked paid Nov 27, 1964, ck #3748 
(the initial $12 check had been applied, this paid the balance).
-A typed 3 page letter to Hammer Galleries, Sept. 25, 1964 listing the 
items same customer was interested in buying. Hand signed.
-2 "Price List" : for Personal Books from the estate of Eleanor 
Roosevelt Sale Sept 18-Oct 3, 1964 and one for the Personal Possessions 
from the same sale. (some pencil circling of prices)
-3 envelopes addressed to customer dated Sept 30, Oct 8 and Oct 9, with 
red postage meter postage of 5c and 8c. neatly opened at top.

All v.g. except for what is mentioned.
